New Chicago Bears president Kevin Warren addressed the media for the first time on Tuesday since accepting the job. And the new president made it clear what the team’s top priority was – a new stadium.

The prospect of a new stadium for the Bears has been floated around. The city of Chicago is expected to try and keep the Bears in the city. However, the Arlington Park project is a legitimate possibility and could stand to pull the team away from its longstanding location at Soldier Field.

Warren made it very clear on Tuesday where a new stadium ranked on the priority list for the team. The popular Chicago Bears podcast, 79th and Halas, who attended the press conference, tweeted Warren’s thoughts. “Kevin Warren says the stadium project is ‘100%’ the #1 goal right now & says he’ll have a better idea of when it could realistically be open in about 6 months.”

So, there you have it. The Bears nor their new president aren’t beating around the bush when it comes to a new stadium. They appear deadset on making it a reality.

The Bears have played at Soldier Field since 1971. A new stadium would be their fourth location in team history, following Soldier, Wrigley Field, and Staley Field.

According to Patch, the project could take up to 10 years to complete.
