During Sunday afternoon’s game against the Houston Texans, Pittsburgh Steelers starting quarterback suffered a knee injury that many initially feared would cause him to miss an extended period of time. But it does not sound like that will be the case. In fact, he could even play this week against the Baltimore Ravens.
During his press conference on Tuesday, Pittsburgh Steelers head coach announced that Kenny Pickett was expected to return to practice in some capacity on Wednesday and would be evaluated from there.
“He’s scheduled to participate at some level of participation tomorrow and then proceed from there,” Tomlin said according to Pro Football Talk. “Obviously, his functionality and comfort [will be] the guide tomorrow. The more functional and comfortable he is, the more work he’ll get. And then as we push forward toward the game, the quality of his work will be a determining factor on his availability.
“Quarterback is no different than any other position. Young players, they need the in-helmet preparation. He knows and understands that. He’s prepared to practice tomorrow. Again, we’ll let tomorrow be our guide in how we move forward with that understanding.”
It’s a big announcement regarding his status, and the NFL world had plenty to say about it on social media as a result.

We’ll have to see whether or not Pickett suits up on Sunday.
