The New York Jets are entering their first season of the post-Aaron Rodgers experience, after two seasons resulted in the franchise winning a total of five games with the four-time MVP winner on the field.

Now, Justin Fields has been tabbed as the franchise’s starting quarterback. Unfortunately, the Jets held a joint practice with the New York Giants on Thursday, and per reports, the Jets may be in for another frustrating year offensively.

Giants edge rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux was asked for his evaluation of Justin Fields as a QB after 2 days of practices against the #Jets. Thibodeaux says he honestly can’t give one because Fields had to spend so much time running and scrambling away from the Giants’ pass rush,” reported Pat Leonard on Twitter.

Fans reacted to the news on social media.

“Dude was getting stonewalled most of the practice lol if Abdul carter said this I’d be like alright he got us there. Thib is good don’t get me wrong but he’s been mid to good not good to great. Calm down buddy, “one fan wrote on Twitter.

“If there is a guy who should not be running his mouth, it’s Kayvon Thibodeaux. He was a top 5 pick and is literally the definition of mid. Maybe Carter will draw extra attention and he can actually achieve his draft status. . .probably not tho LMAO,” someone else added.

“This is crazy coming from one of the laziest NFL players. Got drafted in the top 5 and their front office proceeded to trade and draft for 2 players that are better at the same position in his first 4 years,” another fan added.

It’ll be interesting to see how Fields looks with the Jets, in what may be his last opportunity to be starting quarterback in the league.
