Kansas City Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce doesn’t hide the fact he lives life on the wild side. And sometimes that has had consequences in his life.
After a collegiate career at Cincinnati in which he missed an entire season due to a suspension for smoking marijuana, Kelce got into some hijinks immediately after being drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft.
Kelce, from Cleveland Heights in Ohio, went to an area strip club called “The Boom Boom Room” to celebrate. He got there by driving a Ford F-150 pickup truck that his brother, Philadelphia Eagles star offensive lineman Jason Kelce, had gifted him through a sponsorship deal he had with a Pennsylvanian auto dealer.
According to the Kelce brothers on their podcast New Heights, that truck got stolen “within the first 10 hours” outside the Boom Boom Room.
“Went to the strip club, came back out of the strip club, that car was gone,” Travis said.
Jason claimed that Travis “left the keys in the car,” but Travis disputed that story.
“I just didn’t lock the car,” Travis said. He was unaware there was a spare key in the glove compartment.
The brothers were able to recover the stolen vehicle, but admitted it broke down “within a couple years.”
