Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen is one of the more exciting young stars in the NFL right now while New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers is already a legend with a Hall of Fame resume. With Rodgers now coming to the AFC East, they’ll now face each other twice a year, and it sounds like that’s something Allen is excited about.
During an appearance on Slow News Day with Kevin Clark, Josh Allen said he is “fairly close” with Aaron Rodgers and grew up a big fan of the star quarterback. And now that Rodgers is with the Jets, he’s excited to face him on the field.
“I’ve been such a fan of him as little kid,” Allen said. “Having Aaron Rodgers jerseys and trying to emulate what he does on the football field. He’s such a special player. I think he’s the most gifted thrower of the football of all time. To now be going up against him twice a year, it’s going to be a battle.”
It will certainly be interesting to see how this rivalry takes shape this season and beyond as the two star quarterbacks duel it out twice each season Rodgers is with the Jets.
