Star running back Jonathan Taylor has played his entire NFL career with the Indianapolis Colts, though he has yet to sign an extension with the team. But even if the two sides don’t work out an extension before the start of the season, it doesn’t sound like he’ll be too worried about it.
During an interview this week, Jonathan Taylor was questioned about his future with the team. And he said that even if he isn’t able to sign an extension with the team, it “wouldn’t be a distraction.”
“I don’t even know how that goes. You always just see that, but it’s not until you’re really in that situation to where you’re like, ‘OK, what happened?’ So, I’ll keep you posted,” Taylor said. “It wouldn’t be a distraction to me (to not get an extension before the season). I’m under contract here for four years. I put the pen to the paper … I made an obligation to them. They made an obligation to me. But things will happen naturally.”
It will certainly be interesting to see how Taylor’s future with the team plays out, especially considering that the league’s free-agent market has not been very friendly to running backs in recent years.
