Sheriff’s Deputies in Hamilton County, Ohio reportedly entered the home of an NFL star that has recently been in the news for legal troubles. Deputies entered Cincinnati Bengals running back Joe Mixon’s home early Tuesday morning, responding to a “shots fired” call that left a juvenile injured.
Chancelor Winn, who was on the scene for Fox 19 in Cincinnati, reported that while no one was arrested, the injured juvenile was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries. Though, it isn’t clear how the juvenile was injured.
According to Fox 19, deputies initially responded to a report of shots fired around 8:30 p.m. on Monday. Deputies would put crime scene tape around the house later that evening. Then, at around 11:30 p.m., deputies were observed banging on Mixon’s door, while loudly identifying themselves and telling the homeowner to come outside.
Deputies later allowed a car to enter the driveway around 12:15 a.m. Law enforcement officers and deputies entered the house in the next hour but left without making an arrest. The crime scene tape was taken down around 3:20 a.m.
Mike Dardis of WLW7 5 Cincicnatti said that she spoke with Mixon’s sister, Shelonda, who told him that her brother was not involved in the shooting Monday night. Mixon’s involvement besides deputies reporting to an alleged crime scene at his home is still unclear.
Last month, a warrant was issued for Mixon’s arrest on a count of aggravated menacing. The misdemeanor charges raised against Mixon were dismissed the next day.
