The Cincinnati Bengals may have beaten the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday night, but it wasn’t always pretty, particularly on the offensive line after several injuries to a unit the team worked hard to improve during the offseason. But following the win, star quarterback Joe Burrow still sounds confident.
Heading into the game, the Bengals were without starting right guard Alex Cappa and starting right tackle La’el Collins on Sunday night after Cappa injured his ankle during last week’s game and Collins suffered a season-ending knee injury earlier in the month. Then, early in the game, starting left tackle Jonah Williams left the game with a leg injury.
The Bengals still got the win despite the injuries, but there’s a chance the team is without three of their starting offensive linemen heading into next week’s game against the Buffalo Bills. But Joe Burrow doesn’t sound worried.
“We have a lot of faith in those guys,” Burrow said according to Pro Football Talk. “Max Scharping stepped up today, Hakeem Adeniji stepped up today. Jackson Carman stepped up and got in there after Jonah went down.”
Of course, the Bengals are no stranger to offensive line struggles as the team made it to the Super Bowl last season even despite having one of the worst offensive lines in the league. But it’s certainly not an ideal situation.
