Since he joined the league in 2020, it’s no secret that star quarterback Joe Burrow has meant a lot to the city of Cincinnati as a football player, leading the Cincinnati Bengals to the Super Bowl in just his second season with the team. But he’s also made a big impact for the city in the community, as well, and one recent story highlights that.
This week, the parents of Joe Burrow appeared on The Mental Game Podcast where they revealed that through his foundation, Joe Burrow covered the mental health costs for 20 different families at the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital.
Burrow’s mother, Robin, explains that she thinks Burrow’s willingness to help began early on when she would share stories with him as a teacher.
“When I started teaching, I would come home and tell little stories. Just little things that were breaking my heart. It’s sad when families don’t have the resources and don’t have the means to get what they need. I think he heard a lot of those stories and took those to heart,” Burrow’s mother, Robin, told Brandon Saho during the podcast.
It’s a major gesture from Burrow, and the NFL world had plenty to say about it.
It’s safe to say that the families will remember Burrow’s kindness for a long time.
