This is only the third NFL season for Cincinnati Bengals star quarterback Joe Burrow, but he’s already on pace to make some NFL history. In fact, he’ll likely do it during Monday night’s game against the Buffalo Bills.
According to Pro Football Talk, Joe Burrow is about to become the NFL’s all-time leader in career completion percentage as soon as he has enough passing attempts to qualify for the record. Burrow currently has a career completion percentage of 68.48 percent– well above all-time leader Drew Brees, who has a career completion percentage of 67.69 percent.
Burrow is quite clearly in first place already in that regard, but in order to qualify for the record in the NFL Record & Fact Book, Burrow must attempt at least 1,500 passes. He’s currently attempted 1,488 passes throughout his NFL career, but he’ll almost certainly attempt 12 passes during Monday night’s game.
Even with a poor performance on Monday night, Burrow will take the No. 1 spot on the career completion percentage list. Even if Burrow throws incompletions on his first 12 passes of the game, he’d still have a career completion percentage of 67.93 percent, which is still well above Brees’ all-time record.
It’s safe to say it’s been a strong start to Burrow’s NFL career as he’s quite literally been the most active passer in the history of the league.
