The Los Angeles Chargers are in need of a new full-time head coach after firing previous head coach Brandon Staley during the season. And after a lot of speculation from fans and media, it sounds like Michigan Wolverines head coach Jim Harbaugh is expected to be a real candidate for the position.
According to a report from league insiders Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, Jim Harbaugh is expected to meet with the Los Angeles Chargers next week about their head coaching vacancy.
“After months of speculation, things are about to ramp up on Jim Harbaugh’s potential return to the NFL,” Pelissero and Rapoport reported on Saturday morning on NFL.com
“Sources say it’s believed the Chargers will speak next week with Harbaugh, who has indicated to associates there’s a real possibility he could leave the University of Michigan to become Los Angeles’ head coach.”
Obviously, this is a big step toward Harbaugh potentially returning to the league, and it led to a lot of reactions on social media as a result.
We’ll have to see whether or not Harbaugh turns out to be a good fit for the Chargers and whether or not he decides to leave Michigan.
