The New York Jets are trying to get things turned around with new head coach Aaron Glenn after two disappointing seasons with Aaron Rodgers. The Jets opened the season with Justin Fields at quarterback, but things aren’t going great so far.
New York is 0-2 on the season, and to make matters worse, Fields found himself in concussion protocol, according to one prominent league insider.
“Jets QB Justin Fields is in concussion protocol,” ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on Monday.
Now, we have Fields’ status for the Jets’ game on Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers;.
“Jets QB Justin Fields has been ruled out of Sunday’s game vs. Tampa Bay due to his concussion. Tyrod Taylor will start,” reported Schefter on Wednesday.
Fans reacted to the news that the Jets are rolling with Taylor in Fields’ place on social media.
“Starting to think we actually might see Brady strap up the helmet again soon. These QB’s are dropping like flies,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“Starting Tyrod Taylor gives the Jets a steady hand, but it’s a missed chance to see Fields grow careful balance between health and development,” one fan added.
“The Jets will actually have a QB playing instead of a RB,” someone else added.
It’ll be interesting to see how Taylor does on Sunday.
