New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers is determined to return to the field this season after tearing his Achilles in the team’s season-opening game. And it seems like he has made some serious progress in making the goal a reality.
Rodgers and the Jets played in the first Monday Night Football game of the season in Week 1 against the Buffalo Bills, which was where he suffered his Achilles injury.
In that game, he was carted off the field. Luckily, he is looking far better ahead of this MNF game against the New York Jets in Week 9.
The Jets posted a video of Rodgers walking into the stadium ahead of the game, which shows Rodgers walking without any noticeable limp, a big improvement from past weeks. He had been riding a cart into the Jets games, which he has seemingly now ditched.
Rodgers was also seen throwing on the field before the game, something he has done frequently since his injury.
Fans took notice of these videos and appear to be more optimistic than ever that Rodgers can indeed return this season.
He still may be quite a few weeks away from actually returning to a football field for any sort of practice. But it is clear that he is at least walking much more comfortably, which can only be seen as a good sign.
For the time being until his return, it will be Zach Wilson again at quarterback for the Jets against the Los Angeles Chargers, where the Jets are looking for their fourth consecutive win.
