The Dallas Cowboys suffered a stunning loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday afternoon when quarterback Dak Prescott threw a game-ending pick-six in overtime, which was his second interception of the game. But despite the picks, Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones thinks his quarterback played well.

Following the loss, Jerry Jones defended Dak Prescott, saying the starting quarterback “played outstanding” despite the two interceptions.

“We can win with him playing like that to be trite. I thought he played outstanding,” Jones said according to the Dallas Morning News. “As we see, he wasn’t playing against chopped liver out there. And, so, I thought he did play really well. I thought he made good decisions. Overall we can — if he plays like that, we can win most games.”

Still, Jones acknowledged that Prescott does need to cut down on turnovers going forward.

“Certainly those interceptions can neutralize great execution and effort in other parts of the game. And that’s being trite,” Jones said. “I can tell you right now the definition of aggressiveness does not have to include turnovers. Aggressive does not. And I do like aggressiveness without turnovers.”

The Cowboys will have a chance to bounce back from the stunning loss with a big game against the Philadelphia Eagles this weekend.
