While Dalvin Cook may not know exactly where he’s going to be playing football next season, but his younger brother James Cook is heading into his second season with the Buffalo Bills, and he sure sounds confident about what he’s expecting from himself during the 2023 NFL season.
During an appearance on the Rich Eisen show this week, James Cook was asked what he thought his role was going to be for the Buffalo Bills this coming season, and he certainly didn’t shy away, saying “Obviously RB1.”
“[J]ust come in and do what I do. Change the game with my versatility,” Cook said according to Ryan Talbot of New York Upstate. “Catching the ball out of the backfield. Pass blocking. Just try to do what I can do to help the team win games and ultimately win the Super Bowl.
“I’m ready to work. This is a big step and a goal that I wanted to accomplish in the NFL. Just do what I can do to help the team win games.”
Cook was the team’s No. 2 running back last season, finishing only behind starting running back Devin Singletary in terms of rushing yardage. With Singletary now with the Texans, that clear the way for Cook to have a big season.
