The Miami Dolphins might have taken a major hit on Thursday. Star Dolphins cornerback Jalen Ramsey, who the team acquired in a blockbuster trade this off-season, sustained an injury in training camp action. The former FSU standout reportedly hurt his knee trying to defend wide receiver Tyreek Hill.

Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network posted, “Dolphins CB Jalen Ramsey was carted back into the locker down room after a practice injury. Trainers were attending to his left knee. He grabbed his left knee after defending Tyreek Hill on a pass play. Trainers evaluated him for a bit on the sideline then he hobbled on cart.”

Ramsey was the Dolphins’ prized acquisition this off-season, and the team hoped he’d boost an already talented secondary. The ‘Phins had Xavien Howard and Jevon Holland in tow before the trade was made, so expectations were high. But now Ramsey’s status is up in the air, which would be extremely consequential.

Wolfe later added that he spoke to Holland after the Ramsey injury, who did express some concern and said he talked to Jalen as well.

“Dolphins safety Jevon Holland said they are worried about Jalen Ramsey but they didn’t know any details and don’t want to speculate. Holland said he dapped Ramsey up and they talked for a bit. They are waiting to find out,” Wolfe posted.

Dolphins fans are holding their collective breaths, to say the least, and hopefully Jalen Ramsey is okay.
