During last week’s 22-16 win over the New York Giants on Sunday, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts started and played the entire game for the first time since suffering a shoulder injury during a game last month. And even though he’s healthy and healed from his injury, he was still limited in practice due to soreness – but that’s not a problem this week.
As John Clark of NBC Sports points out, Jalen Hurts likely would have pushed it and been a full participant in practice this week if the Eagles were preparing for a game. But since the Eagles secured the first-round bye in the playoffs and are off this weekend, the Eagles are “easing him back into practice.”
“Jalen Hurts was sore coming off playing in a game for first time in 3 weeks since spraining his shoulder. The Eagles are easing him back in to practice this week with the bye If Eagles were playing this week he would be a full participant. But they’re being conservative with him,” Clark said in a Tweet.
With the way the Eagles are able to handle his injury and recovery, it’s likely that Hurts will be at his best when the team plays its first playoff game next week.
