Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud has already been named the Week 1 starter for their game against the Baltimore Ravens. And he received another huge honor from his teammates on Monday ahead of his NFL debut.

Stroud comes to the Texans with some high expectations, starring at Ohio State which led to his No. 2 selection in the 2023 NFL Draft by the Texans.

It seems like he has already made an impression on his teammates, as he was named one of four team captains for the Texans this season. He joins Jalen Pitre, Laremy Tunsil, and Jimmie Ward as a captain.

It certainly shows a ton of trust from his teammates to be given this honor before he has even taken a snap in a regular-season game. And fans are excited that he seems to have full respect in the locker room in Houston.

It took the Texans longer than expected to name Stroud the starting quarterback, as he was in competition with Davis Mills for the majority of the preseason. But it seems like everything has worked out for him, as he clearly has carved out a huge role for himself in his first season.

There is obviously still plenty of work for Stroud and the Texans to fix some big problems from last season. The Texans notably finished with a 3-13-1 record last year. That being said, Stroud will certainly be a huge factor in helping turn things around.
