The Green Bay Packers and franchise quarterback Jordan Love know that they’ll need all hands on deck in the NFC North, where three teams made the playoffs last season, and the only team that didn’t, the Chicago Bears, is sure to improve this year under new head coach Ben Johnson.
Unfortunately, the task in front of the Packers for the time being is going to be much more arduous than the team initially anticipated, according to one prominent league insider.
“Packers’ safety Xavier McKinney could miss the rest of training camp due to a calf injury,” reported ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Friday.
Fans reacted to the news on social media.
“What is up with all the calf injuries, I hope we don’t have the Achilles tears like the NBA had after calf issues. McKinney is a pro’s pro, hope he comes back quickly,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“As long as he’s good for Week 1 I’m fine. More reps for Bullard at safety might be good,” another fan added.
“Lotta injuries. I pray nobody else take no serious injuries the rest of the preseason. Especially my falcons to be exact,” someone else wrote.
Hopefully, McKinney will be a full go by the time the regular season arrives.
