The New York Giants have been a disaster on offense this season, which has directly led to their disappointing 1-4 start to the season. However, all may not be doom and gloom, as the Giants received some great news regarding star running back Saquon Barkley.
Barkley has missed the last three games for the Giants with an ankle injury. In his absence, the running game has struggled heavily, a huge reason why their offense ranks dead last in yards per game on the season.
The Giants desperately need a win on Sunday Night Football against the Buffalo Bills if they want to have any chance of competing for a postseason spot in the NFC. And luckily, their most talented offensive player will be returning to the field for said game.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported on Sunday night ahead of the game that Barkley will be active for the game against the Bills.
It’s obviously a huge boost to a team that desperately needs it. And fans are extremely eager to see Barkley back on the field.
Barkley’s return is obviously a big deal for the Giants. Unfortunately, Barkley will not be returning with his normal quarterback under center, as starting quarterback Daniel Jones will be inactive for this game with a neck injury.
That leaves veteran quarterback Tyrod Taylor as the starter, and it will be interesting to see how well this struggling Giants offense adjusts to Taylor under center.
