Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark (22) gets the crowd excited Tuesday, May 20, 2025, during a game between the Indiana Fever and the Atlanta Dream at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. The Atlanta Dream defeated the Indiana Fever, 91-90.

The Indiana Fever have managed to find some success in recent weeks despite star point guard Caitlin Clark having been sidelined with a groin injury. However, the Fever know that if they want to make a Finals run, they’ll need Clark available.

On Monday, head coach Stephanie White provided media members with an update on Clark’s status moving forward.

“Caitlin Clark has not yet returned to practice, Stephanie White says. She is able to do a bit more in the running and individual workouts aspects, but no practice with the full team yet,” Chloe Peterson reported on Twitter.

Fans reacted to the news on social media.

“I think they’re doing the right thing. It may not seem like it to those who want to see her play, but a groin injury is hard to come back from and in the past, players that came back too early never played the same,” one person wrote on Twitter.

“Safe to say, original injury was more severe than they thought? in nfl, only the bad ones last 6-8 weeks or being reinjured made things worse?” someone else wrote.

“I think she will be back for the Lynx game on 8/22. That gives her all this week to get her endurance back and then they have 4 days of practice the week of 8/17,” another fan predicted.

It’ll be interesting to see exactly when Clark will be fully cleared to return.
