On Monday night, New York Yankees slugger Aaron Judge made Major League Baseball history when he blasted his 62nd home run of the season to break Roger Maris’ American League single-season home run record. Since Judge hit the historic home run against the Texas Rangers in Arlington, there were a few Dallas Cowboys players in attendance – but star running back Ezekiel Elliott wasn’t one of them, for a pretty lame reason.
According to Dallas Cowboys writer Clarence Hill Jr., Elliott chose not to attend Monday night’s game with his teammates because he hates driving from Frisco, Texas – where the team practices – to nearby Arlington, Texas.
So why didn't Zeke Elliott go to Arlington to witness 62 with his teammates?
I hate driving all the way to Arlington. No disrespect to Aaron Judge. I respect his game. We had practice today. It was Micah's suite. He invited me. I'm just not driving to Arlington, unless I have to pic.twitter.com/eghFi8hReS— Clarence Hill Jr (@clarencehilljr) October 5, 2022
“I hate driving all the way to Arlington. No disrespect to Aaron Judge. I respect his game. We had practice today. It was Micah’s suite. He invited me. I’m just not driving to Arlington, unless I have to,” Elliott said, according to Hill.
The most humorous thing about Elliott’s comments is that AT&T Stadium – where the Cowboys play their home games – is located in Arlington, Texas. So Elliott indirectly revealed that he hates driving to the city in which his football team plays.
Elliott says he only drives to Arlington unless he has to. It’s safe to say that Cowboys home games qualify as a reason why he might “have to” drive to Arlington.
