Every quarterback at any level of football throws interceptions from time to time. Those sorts of mistakes are just part of the game and are generally nothing to be too embarrassed about. However, the pick Seattle Seahawks quarterback Drew Lock threw during the team’s final preseason game against the Dallas Cowboys on Friday was absolutely embarrassing.
In the second quarter of Seattle’s 27-26 loss to the Cowboys, the Seahawks were near midfield when Lock stepped back for a first-down pass. After some brief hesitation in the pocket, Lock turned and threw to the flats to his left. Lock’s intended receiver was Penny Hart, but instead, he threw the ball right to Dallas Cowboys receiver Nahshon Wright, who hauled in what is likely the easiest interception of his life.
It might be the worst interception we see from any NFL quarterback all year, and we haven’t even made it to the regular season yet.
Naturally, Lock’s embarrassing throw made waves on social media, with the NFL world taking the opportunity to make fun of the quarterback.
It was a bad day all around for Lock. Not only did he throw this embarrassing interception, but he also threw two other picks and lost the starting quarterback job to veteran Geno Smith.
Some days just aren’t your day. And Thursday certainly wasn’t Lock’s.
