United States President Donald Trump has not been shy about his love of sports in either his first term or this one, after returning to the Oval Office in January following his defeat of Democratic nominee Kamala Harris in last November’s general election.
The sports world was turned upside down on Sunday when FOX NFL analyst Mark Sanchez was reported to have been stabbed and in critical condition. Then, things took an interesting turn when Sanchez was reportedly charged with crimes himself and then arrested.
Trump is now reacting to the puzzling situation.
“He’s a nice guy. I don’t know what happened. Something bad happened. Something a little crazy happened,” Trump said on Monday.
“I can only report that he was a nice guy. I know him a little bit.”M
Fans reacted to Trump’s response on social media.
“Trump knows all about the Mark Sanchez incident… yet, today, claimed to know nothing about Ghislaine Maxwell AND a Supreme Court decision about her. He’s the biggest liar on earth and mentally debilitated on top of it,” one person wrote on Twitter.
“Trump sounds like he woke up from a 20 year coma and has just learned the basics of speech. What a prince if the English language for a second grader!” someone else added.
“Not 1 word about the 69 year old man doing his job who had to defend himself from a former NFL a player who almost killed him. Any decent human being would have sent this poor man their prayers and a speedy recovery. Not this lunatic,” another person wrote.
