U.S. President Donald Trump speaks during an event at Verst Logistics on March 11, 2026 in Hebron, Kentucky.

United States President Donald Trump spoke at a political rally in New York in support of Republican Rep. Mike Lawler. While he was there to speak about the economy, he also used New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart to argue against transgender women participating in women’s sports.

Dart, who took over as the team’s starting quarterback last year during his rookie season, was in attendance to introduce Trump ahead of his speech to the crowd.

“It’s a pleasure to be here,” Dart said, before leading a “go big blue” chant for the crowd.

“What an honor, what a privilege it is to be here,” Dart continued. “And, without further ado, I’m grateful, I’m honored, I’m pleasured to introduce the 46th and 47th President of the United States of America, President Donald J. Trump.”

Trump then took the stage as “God Bless the U.S.A.” by Lee Greenwood played.

Trump Speaks Out Against Transgender Athletes

During his speech, Trump took the opportunity to speak out against transgender women, using Dart as an example of why “men” should not be allowed to compete against women.

“I’m looking at Jaxson. I’d like to know, is there any woman in the audience that thinks they could tackle that guy?” Trump asked the audience. “Because I’d like to meet you, I’d like to shake your hand.”

Trump then turned to Dart and asked him how he thinks he would fare competing against women.

“Jaxson, you think you could play against women okay? You think you’d have any problem? I don’t think so,” Trump said to the Giants’ quarterback, who was standing off stage, before advising the quarterback to remain silent on the issue.

“Don’t get involved, Jaxson,” Trump said. “Don’t answer that question.”

Trump went on to praise Dart’s physique as he claimed that Dart playing in women’s sports “would not be a good thing for women.”

“I’m looking at the legs there. He’s this beautiful guy. He’s got legs like tree trunks,” Trump said. “This is not a good thing for women. This would not be good.”
