The final minute in the first half of Amazon Prime’s “Black Friday” game was so crazy, the mayhem continued after time expired.
Miami Dolphins safety Jevon Holland intercepted a hail mary attempt by New York Jets quarterback Tim Boyle and ran it back 99 yards for a touchdown to end the half. Amazon Prime’s Al Michaels tried to make sense of the improbable moment, noting, “Can you believe this?! That is insanity! That’s as crazy as anything you’ll ever see!”
The play capped an already wild final minute of the half that began when Jets cornerback Brandin Echols ran back a pick-six. Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa then threw another interception with 2 seconds remaining, setting the stage for Holland’s unlikely heroics.
To make things even more embarrassing/awkward for the Jets, seconds later, head coach Robert Saleh did an interview with Amazon Prime as the teams came off the field.
NFL fans were as surprised by the “Fail Mary” as Saleh, Boyle and the Jets.
