Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson is once again cited in a police report, but this time as the victim.
Police in North Olmstead, Ohio, a suburb of Cleveland, say that Watson was the victim of a truck theft during a crime that saw four other vehicles stolen from a dealership lot:
“Police are looking for thieves who stole five cars from a local car dealership,” the Cleveland 19 News report begins. “One of the vehicles, a truck, belonging to Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson.”
“It’s a mystery. Who stole Deshaun Watson’s truck from this Mercedes-Benz dealership on Lorain Road?” asks another reporter. North Olmstead police say just after 1 a.m. Saturday morning, thieves stole five cars from the lot, including Watson’s RAM TRX truck.
All of the cars stolen were Mercedes-Benzes, according to the report—except Watson’s truck. Police say the car is worth more than $100,000.
Hours after the truck was stolen, however, police discovered Watson’s truck in a ditch off a nearby interstate, apparently abandoned by the thieves.
Police also recovered two other stolen vehicles from the incident.
Neither Watson or the Browns have yet to comment on the theft of Watson’s truck. The Browns finished the season 7-10, good for last place in the AFC North.
