While Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers will certainly be a candidate for the NFL Hall of Fame by the time his career wraps up, you won’t find many who would proclaim the same about Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Derek Carr – except veteran wide receiver Davante Adams, at least.
After he was traded from the Packers to the Raiders this offseason, Adams is having to adjust from catches passes from Rodgers to Carr. When asked about the transition from the two quarterbacks, Adams had quite a bizarre response, indicating that he believes both Rodgers and Carr are future Hall of Famers.
“Any time you change QBs from hall-of-famer to hall-of-famer … it’s going to be a little bit of an adjustment,” Adams told CBS. “Both are great players and great to be around.”
While Rodgers has solidified his legacy already with four NFL Most Valuable Player awards, 10 Pro Bowl nominations, and a Super Bowl championship, Carr still has plenty to prove to get anywhere near that level. In his nine NFL seasons, Carr has just three Pro Bowl appearances and has yet to win a playoff game, going 0-1 in his career.
That’s not to say Carr couldn’t eventually find himself with a bust in Canton with a few dominant seasons in the future, but he certainly hasn’t earned that honor just yet, as Adams seemed to suggest.
