The Cleveland Browns pulled off one of the most surprising upsets of the weekend when they defeated the Green Bay Packers, but Cleveland’s offense still struggled mightily throughout the game.
As poor as the offense, which has been led by veteran quarterback Joe Flacco, has looked in the first three games of the season, head coach Kevin Stefanksi has shown no signs that he plans on moving on from Flacco.
However, one Hall of Famer close to the situation is expecting that at some point this season, Stefanksi will be pivoting to rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders.
“Be patient and be ready,” Shedeur’s father, Deion Sanders, said, according to ESPN. “You got to be ready when it’s time. But when it’s time, you’re going to know. And it’s coming up. I got a prediction. I ain’t telling nobody. I got a feeling when it’s going to go down. But it’s going to go down this year. … He’s going to get a shot.”
Fans reacted to the news on social media.
“Joe Flacco’s 40, Dillon Gabriel is small for a NFL QB, and the franchise has started 4 and 5 quarterbacks over the last two seasons… Of course Shedeur’s starting a game at some point this season,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“It’s the browns… we usually have 5 different quarterbacks a year… why would this year be any different,” someone else added.
“At this point, he’s just Lavar Ball with a Super Bowl ring (and less talented kids),” another person added.
It’ll be interesting to see how Shedeur looks if he gets the opportunity his father is anticipating.
