Tom Brady has agreed in principle to a deal for minority ownership with the Las Vegas Raiders.
The NFL must still officially approve that deal with majority owner Mark Davis, but that’s not stopping UFC president Dana White from plotting major moves with Brady when he likely arrives in Vegas later this year.
“I think there’s more opportunity for us to hang out now that he’s around more in Vegas,” White recently told TMZ. “I don’t know about working!”
The two have been close friends for years. Brady recently announced his retirement from the NFL—for now—and also has plans to commentate for Fox Sports this upcoming season.
But White thinks the Raiders’ move will benefit Las Vegas at large.
“At the end of the day, Brady’s a winner,” White said. “The guy’s a winner. Winning is what he does. Having that kind of attitude and drive, and everything else he can bring to the Raiders and to this city, I couldn’t be happier about it.”
Brady retired after a tumultuous season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers despite making the playoffs. Brady underwent a very public divorce from his then-wife, supermodel Gisele Bündchen, that played out in headlines throughout the season.
