Throughout the NFL offseason, there has been a lot of conversation about the interception totals for Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott. But it sounds like Prescott is ready to answer all of his critics this upcoming season.
During his first press conference following the start of Dallas Cowboys camp, Dak Prescott wasted no time in making a pretty bold guarantee about his interception total this upcoming season.
“I am going to lessen my interception numbers,” Prescott said according to ESPN. “That is a guarantee.”
But Prescott also made it clear that he’s “not going to stop being aggressive” given how important his aggressive style of play is to the team’s identity. Sometimes that does result in interceptions – Prescott has thrown two during preseason camp so far – but he’s confident there will be fewer this season.
“We’re trying to gain chemistry here, and we’re trying to be aggressive,” Prescott said. “That’s who our coach is, and that’s who I am. That’s the confidence I’ve gained in myself, and I’ve worked so hard to be able to have this confidence and make the throws that I’m making. That’s just two, right? If it continues then, yeah, come back to me and it might change my mood a little bit.”

We’ll have to see if Prescott can live up to the promise.
