The NFL world is buzzing as the Dallas Cowboys are in the news again. This time because of the defensive star Micah Parsons, who the NFL honored after a brilliant September. The NFL named the former Penn State standout as the NFC’s Defensive Player of the Month.
“Feasted all September!” his Cowboys posted on X, formerly known as Twitter. The Cowboys made the official announcement of Parsons’ honoring, and it’s easy to understand why he was the choice.
Few defensive players, either in the NFC or the AFC, were better than Parsons. Through three weeks, Micah has already been wreaking havoc. He’s recorded 4.0 sacks and eight QB hits already on the season. Parsons has been disruptive everywhere, earning a pass defended, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery, 12 tackles, and five TFLs to boot.
Parsons also came away with 10 pressures, four knockdowns, and two hurries. He’s blitzed 14 times already this season.
In just 36 games in his NFL career, Parsons already has 30.5 sacks. He’s been a force and has been a big reason why the Cowboys defense has been one of the best units in football. He was tamed a bit in Dallas’ loss against Arizona last weekend, but you can’t expect to keep him quiet for long.
The NFL world had plenty to say after the Micah Parsons announcement.
