The Dallas Cowboys fell short in their biggest game of the season to date on Sunday night against the San Francisco 49ers. And as you would expect, Cowboys star edge rusher Micah Parsons was not exactly thrilled with the result, taking exception to an incident regarding 49ers star tight end George Kittle.
Kittle dominated on Sunday night, recording three catches for 67 yards and three touchdowns. After one of his touchdowns, he pulled up his jersey which showed an undershirt with some choice words for the Cowboys.
Parsons spoke about this moment after the game, where he proclaimed that things would be much different if the Cowboys faced off against the 49ers in a potential postseason matchup.
“George Kittle had three touchdowns on us,” said Parson on his podcast The Edge with Micah Parsons on Bleacher Report. “And he posted this thing to IG. He said **** Dallas. I just feel like he’s making it way more personal than it had to be. Kittle’s my guy. But I’m gonna say this. Laugh now, cry later. We got something for that, just trust. If we see them again, just trust. I ain’t gonna put too much on it. You gonna make it personal? We can make it personal.”
The matchup was between who most fans thought was potentially the two best teams in the NFC. That makes the loss even more devastating for Parsons and company.
That being said, Parsons’ proclamation that Dallas would defeat the 49ers in a rematch obviously falls on deaf ears considering how lopsided it was for the Cowboys.
For now, the 49ers and Kittle have the last laugh in this budding NFC rivalry. But only time will tell if the Cowboys and Parsons will have the chance to redeem themselves in the postseason.
