The Dallas Cowboys embarrassed themselves on Sunday. In their Super Wild Card game against the Green Bay Packers, the Cowboys rolled over and lost 48-24 in a memorable shellacking. Green Bay was in full control from beginning to end, bell to bell, scoring on their first drive of the game. They didn’t let up from there and once held a 27-0 lead in the first half.
McCarthy’s job has been scrutinized heavily over the years. In response to the loss, many are completely over it. Some even saw the way the first half played out and said, “Bill Belichick should be the next Dallas coach!” At halftime!
Quarterback Dak Prescott is no stranger to criticism himself. He also received a bounty of criticism for his play on Sunday afternoon. Prescott wasn’t shy about facing that after the game. In fact, Prescott threw himself in front of McCarthy and took it on himself.
Via Pro Football Talk, Prescott had nothing but positive things to say about his coach.”He’s been amazing,” he said via PFT. Prescott then later said, “It should be about me as well, honestly. That guy, I’ve had the season I’ve had because of him. This team has had the success they’ve had because of him. I understand it’s about winning the Super Bowl, and that’s the standard of the league and damn sure should be the standard of this place. I get it, but add me to the list in that case.”
Strong words from Prescott, but nothing you wouldn’t expect out of the leader of a team either.
