The Dallas Cowboys are in a very contentious contract dispute with star pass rusher Micah Parsons, who is looking for a contract extension that reflects his on-field dominance. Things between the sides seemed to reach a boiling point on Friday, with Parsons requesting a trade from the organization.

However, the trade request may purely have been a negotiating tactic, as head coach Brian Schottenheimer revealed that Parsons is carrying himself like someone who plans on sticking around, per one prominent Cowboys insider.

“Cowboys coach Brian Schottenheimer said Micah Parsons has been ‘really good in the meetings’ and ‘very engaged.’ Similar on-field from him expected today to what we’ve been seeing,” reported The Athletic’s Jon Machota on Monday.

Machota had more from Schottenheimer.

“Despite Micah Parsons’ trade request, Cowboys coach Brian Schottenheimer is planning on having him on the field this season. “’Still planning on moving Micah around. … I expect Micah to be here.’”

Fans reacted to the news on social media.

“Why can’t Jerry just pay him already like seriously this is just ridiculous and no one likes it when contracts get dragged out this way smh,” one fan wrote on Twitter.

“Jerry doesn’t want to pay him… Yes, the multi BILLIONAIRE, Jerry,” someone else added.

It’ll be interesting to see if Dallas and Parsons come to terms eventually.
