The Cleveland Browns’ offense has struggled to get much of anything going through the four games of the season with veteran quarterback Joe Flacco under center. Browns fans called for a change at the position as early as Week Two, but head coach Kevin Stefanski stood by Flacco, who won Comeback Player of the Year with the franchise in the 2024 season.

Browns Stefanski said he won’t consider a quarterback change from Joe Flacco to Dillon Gabriel,” Cleveland beat reporter Mary Kay Cabot had after Cleveland’s Week 2 loss.

Stefanski was adamant that he wasn’t looking at a change at the position after Cleveland’s loss to the Detroit Lions on Sunday.

“Browns coach Kevin Stefanski said he’s still not considering a QB change. ‘That’s not our focus … We didn’t do enough on offense,’” he said, ESPN’s Daniel Oyefusi tweeted after the loss to Detroit.

However, Stefanski has seemingly had a change of heart for one reason or another.

The current belief is that the #Browns are going to make a change at quarterback and start rookie Dillon Gabriel this week vs. the Vikings, sources tell (CBS Sports),” Matt Zenitz reported on Twitter on Tuesday.

Fans reacted to the news on social media.

“He’s gonna stink it up and then in another 2-3 weeks we can finally see Shedeur,” one fan predicted on Twitter.

“I’m sure people will be very reasonable and level headed about this news,” one fan added.

“Well this is going to be interesting, hopefully CLE WRs and TEs start balling out. Judkins is doing his part,” another fan added.

It’ll be interesting to see how long of a leash the rookie will have.
