Cleveland Browns wide receiver Elijiah Moore talks connection with Deshaun Watson.

The Cleveland Browns might have made one of the trades of the offseason when they acquired former New York Jets wide receiver Elijah Moore.

Moore said when he arrived in Cleveland that he didn’t care where he lined up; he had a knack for finding the ball. So far, that’s been exactly the case with new quarterback Deshaun Watson. The two have linked up for several impressive completions throughout minicamp.

Here’s one example:

Watson is a fan of the acquisition.

“It’s being able to add more talent to that room, guys that have that experience and guys that want to be big players for this team to help us win,” Watson said recently, according to Chris Easterling of The Akron Beacon Journal. “And he’s another guy that wants to prove a lot of people wrong.

So [general manager Andrew Berry] is doing a heck of a job of getting guys in that want to prove people wrong and are motivated and hungry to have that success and win that big ultimate trophy.”

Browns wide receivers coach Chad O’Shea concurred with Watson, saying the two complement each other well.

“[Moore] has exceptional ball skills and very strong hands, so as well as Deshaun throws the ball and as well as Deshaun throws the ball down the field, Elijah’s able to track the ball at all levels of the offense,” O’Shea said.

“He can track the ball in that short area and take a ball and catch and run. He can get behind the defense and track the deep ball very well and especially at his size, being a smaller receiver, he really plays big in my opinion, and he’s got exceptional ball skills. So it fits really well with our quarterback.”

If Moore and Watson can prove to be an efficient offensive tandem, the Browns should do better than last season’s last-place finish in the AFC North with a 7-10 overall record.
