As the 2023 NFL season officially comes to a close, the race for the league’s Offensive Rookie of the Year Award seems to be down to just two players: Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud and Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua. But based on the latest betting odds, it sounds like one of those players has a much better chance of winning the award than the other.
This week, SportsBetting.ag, C.J. Stroud is the clear favorite to win the NFL Rookie of the Year Award this season as the sportsbook is giving him -700 odds to claim the award. Meanwhile, Puka Nacua is the only other player listed on the board, and he has +400 odds to win the award.
Based on these odds, Stroud has an 87.5 percent implied probability of winning the award while Nacua has just a 20 percent implied probability of claiming the honor.
This comes after Stroud had a prolific rookie season with the Texans, completing 63.2 percent of his passes for 3,844 yards and 21 touchdowns with just five interceptions.
However, with Stroud out with a concussion the past two weeks, Nacua has been able to swing back into the Rookie of the Year discussion after strong season of his own with 101 catches for 1,445 yards and five touchdowns.
We’ll have to see who ultimately claims the award.
