The Houston Texans may have to take on the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday without their starting quarterback.
C.J. Stroud has been listed on the injury report as questionable to play against the Colts due to a right shoulder injury.
The No. 2 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft appeared on the injury report Friday after having not been listed on Wednesday or Thursday.
If Stroud is unable to start, Davis Mills would get the nod. Mills has started 26 games for the Texans over the past two seasons, throwing 33 touchdown passes, 25 interceptions and putting up a QBR of 35.
Case Keenum is listed as the No. 3 quarterback on the Texans depth chart.
Houston has a lot of injuries it might have to reckon with in this game as both starting safeties, Jalen Pitre (chest) and Jimmie Ward (hip), are also listed on the injury report. Texans left tackle Laremy Tunsil is also questionable with a knee injury, while backup linebacker Neville Hewitt is questionable with an illness.
The Texans got walloped by the Baltimore Ravens in the season opener, 25-9. Stroud finished with 242 passing yards on 28 of 44 passing. While he didn’t throw any interceptions, he also wasn’t able to get Houston on the board with any touchdowns.
He’s gonna play. He’s gonna play, he’s gonna play.
