CJ Stroud put on a dazzling display during the NFL Combine on Saturday.
The Ohio State quarterback is one of the best prospects in the upcoming NFL Draft. Stroud showed exactly why that was on Saturday as he lit up his performance.
Stroud, in particular, wowed fans, media, and others during his throwing session. Before we got there though, he wouldn’t even let go of the football as Stacey Dales pointed out.
Then, it was showtime.
Stroud took each throw and made strike after strike after strike. He had a rousing showing that excited a lot of people around the NFL world.
One in particular? Draft analyst Daniel Jeremiah, who claimed he’d never seen anything like this. “CJ Stroud is having one of the best throwing sessions I’ve seen at the Combine,” Jeremiah tweeted.
Jordan Reid also was struck by CJ Stroud and the performance he put on. “Sitting right behind CJ Stroud. Best way to describe him throwing the football is like watching an ace pitcher,” Reid tweeted. “Natural, effortless, and precise. Can hit any part of the strike zone.” Very high praise.
Former NFL quarterback-turned-ESPN analyst Robert Griffin III waxed poetic as well. “CJ Stroud putting on a masterclass of throwing the football,” RGIII said.
ESPN analyst Louis Riddick continued the praise train. “”Fluid, graceful movement qualities,” he observed.
And Michael Florio said his performance was “no surprise as it’s all he puts on tape.” He called him the “safest bet” of the QB class.
