The Kansas City Chiefs have not looked as invincible as they have in recent seasons. Through the first five weeks of the season, the Chiefs are sitting at 2-3 on the campaign, with all three losses coming in one-score games, after going 11-0 in those a year ago.

The Chiefs’ most recent loss came on Monday night to the rising Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jags were put in position to win by a miraculous touchdown run by quarterback Trevor Lawrence with under a minute to go in the contest.

On the play, Chiefs star defensive Lineman Chris Jones seemed to give a pathetic lack of effort, and he has drawn immense criticism on social media. Rather than own up to his mistake and take accountability, Jones has decided to deactivate his social media accounts, according to Pro Football Talk.

Fans reacted to the news on social media.

“A 300+ lb man sees the quarterback go down, figures the play is over and then can’t get going again when he realizes he’s wrong. And where were the rest of defenders on that side? At least one, the most likely to have a play, was flat on his back after a pancake block,” one fan wrote on Twitter.

“Regarding effort in NFL: Most NFL starters play about 60 plays a game. Average play about 5 seconds. So a strong effort for about 300 seconds (5 minutes) each week seems like a reasonable expectation,” someone else added.

“Maybe he should have moved as fast on the last play as he did to delete his social media,” another fan added.

It’ll be interesting to see if Jones can bounce back this weekend against the Detroit Lions.
