The Kansas City Chiefs have quickly emerged as a true dynasty in the NFL after back-to-back Super Bowl victories over the last two years. And on Monday, they made a significant step towards continuing their success by ensuring several key members of the organization will be staying in Kansas City.
Behind the scenes, team president Mark Donovan and general manager Brett Veach have done an excellent job of making sure that the team has all the pieces to succeed on the field.
And when it comes to the on-field action, longtime head coach Andy Reid has long been praised as one of the most brilliant offensive minds in the sport.
The success of the team simply cannot happen without all three of these individuals. And on Monday, Chiefs Chairman and CEO Clark Hunt announced that he has agreed to contract extensions with the trio.
“Mark, Brett, and Andy have achieved historic success together, and we are thrilled that they will continue in their roles for many years to come,” Hunt said in a statement on their respective contract extensions. “Individually, Mark, Brett, and Andy each represent the best in the National Football League at their respective positions, and together, they make up one of the finest leadership teams in all of professional sports. They have been tremendous leaders for this organization on and off the field, and we look forward to their continued success in the years ahead.”
With these three returning and star quarterback Patrick Mahomes locked into a long-term contract, it sure seems like the Chiefs will continue to be a force to be reckoned with for years to come.
