The Chicago Bears currently sit at 1-5 on the season, desperately needing a win in Week 7 to help turn their season around. Unfortunately, it now seems like they will need to do so without starting quarterback Justin Fields.
Fields suffered a thumb injury on his throwing hand in their Week 6 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. This resulted in undrafted rookie quarterback Tyson Bagent seeing the field for the first time in his career.
Unfortunately for Bears fans, they will not be seeing Fields in their Week 7 matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders. The team ruled him out for the game in their injury report on Friday.

That means that Bagent will presumably receive his first NFL start on Sunday, and fans aren’t exactly thrilled about this news…
This game sounds like it’s gonna be brutal.

Bagent vs O'Connell Who you got?

Luckily for the Bears, the Raiders are also dealing with their own injuries at the quarterback position that could severely impact their offensive production on Sunday.
Raiders starting quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo was ruled out ahead of the game as well. This means that either rookie quarterback Aidan O’Connell or veteran Brian Hoyer will be starting in Week 7.
This game could come down to which defense makes bigger plays against the respective struggling offenses. And even that doesn’t exactly bode well for the Bears, as they are allowing the fourth-most points in all of football this season.
Maybe Bagent and the rest of the Bears’ offense will surprise fans with an impressive performance. But it certainly appears likely that we see another dud from the Bears offensively without Justin Fields in Week 7.
