The Carolina Panthers’ win over the New York Jets on Sunday improved the team to 4-3 on the year and put them within striking distance of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the top spot in the NFC South. Unfortunately, it proved to be a costly win for the Panthers, with former number one overall pick Bryce Young going down with an ankle injury.

Panthers QB Bryce Young suffered a high ankle sprain on Sunday, an MRI revealed, and he is expected to miss this week’s game against the #Bills, per sources. Andy Dalton is now in line to start against Buffalo, and quite possibly beyond,” NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported.

Now, the Panthers have made a roster move to add a veteran quarterback to the organization while Young is on the mend.

Veteran QB Mike White is signing with the #Panthers practice squad, per sources. With Andy Dalton expected to start Sunday against the Bills in place of an injured Bryce Young, White — who spent last season in Buffalo — now heads to Carolina,” reported Pelissero.

Fans reacted to the news on social media.

“Remember when jets fans acted like this guy was the answer for a few weeks,” one fan wrote on Twitter.

“Can’t see his name without remembering the time he led the Jets into U.S. Bank Stadium in 2022 and casually threw for damn near 400 yards,” someone else added.

“Well, there’s the move Canales spoke of. It’s not a huge vote of confidence for Hendon Hooker,” one fan added.

It’ll be interesting to see if White ever touches the field as a Carolina Panther.
