Tom Brady’s frustrations with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ performances have been on display for much of the season. Sunday’s game against the Carolina Panthers is certainly not going to help matters.
It was a brutal day for the Buccaneers’ offense, scoring just three points in an embarrassing loss to the Panthers, who came into the game with a 1-5 record on the year.
PJ Walker, who is starting at quarterback for Carolina in Baker Mayfield’s absence, iced the game in the fourth quarter with a 29-yard touchdown pass to tight end Tommy Tremble.
This touchdown put the Panthers up 21-3, which is what ended up being the final score in the game.

The Panthers recently fired their coach, traded their top offensive player Christian McCaffrey, and played a backup quarterback in Walker, so it is certainly a brutal upset loss for the Buccaneers.

This loss marks the first time since 2002 that a team led by Brady has been under .500 this far into the season.
The last time Tom Brady was under .500 this far into the season (7 games in) was 20 years ago, when the 2002 Patriots lost four straight to fall to 3-4. The Patriots were also 3-4 after 7 games in 2001.
Brady's never been under .500 eight or more games into an NFL season.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers finished last season at 13-4. To see them have as many losses as last season at this point in the year is truly shocking.
Brady has notably been going through some real struggles in his personal life with his divorce from Gisele Bündchen being extremely public. It’s unclear if that is playing a factor, or if age may just be finally catching up to him, but the team needs to turn things around quickly.
The silver lining for this Buccaneers team is that they are shockingly still on top of the NFC South division despite their struggles.
