Fans of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have made Tom Brady jerseys a part of their essential purchases during this COVID-19 outbreak and quarantine (though Florida has been slow on that part).
Tampa Bay made the Brady signing official (two years, $50 million guaranteed) on Friday. And that was quickly followed by a massive spike in jersey sales.
ESPN’s Jenna Laine — a Buccaneers beat reporter — reports that, according to sports merchandise retailer Fanatics, “Brady day-over-day jersey sales are up 900%.” That’s a heck of an increase.
Laine adds that the Bucs are the top-selling team across Fanatics today, and “more Bucs gear has been sold today than the last two weeks combined.”
So, that makes it very clear how excited Bucs fans — and likely just many NFL fans — are about the six-time Super Bowl champion leaving the New England Patriots to join Tampa Bay.
