Bryce Young has yet to play an NFL game, but he already has an endorsement deal with a popular local fast-food chain.
The former Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback has signed an endorsement deal with the fast-food chain Bojangles, known for its tasty fried chicken and buttermilk biscuits.
Young spoke with CBS Sports NFL insider Jonathan Jones about the Bojangles partnership on Wednesday:
“I’ve been able to trust the strength and conditioning staff and the training staff at the organization,” Young told CBS Sports by phone Tuesday morning. “This was something that we had talked about having sustainable meals that could help me in my training and still keep me active. Luckily with how the food’s prepared and the quality of it, it’s able to fall into that category. I’m definitely excited for that.”
Bojangles was founded in Charlotte, NC, and the company’s headquarters are there. Charlotte also happens to be home of the Carolina Panthers, who selected Young with the No. 1 overall pick of the 2023 NFL Draft (the Panthers acquired the No. 1 pick in a blockbuster trade with the Chicago Bears).
So, targeting Young — the 2021 Heisman Trophy winner — to be a spokesperson had to be an easy call for Bojangles.
