The Cleveland Browns famously shelled out a massive five-year $230 million contract to Deshaun Watson that the organization has quickly grown to regret. But despite all of this money that they have shelled out to the quarterback position, the organization hinted at the possibility of shelling out even more resources to the quarterback position in the very near future.
Cleveland of course has the No. 2 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, an enviable position that could go a long way in turning around the downward spiral that the organization has had in recent years.
Deshaun Watson has been less than exceptional since coming to Cleveland. And this may very well have the Browns looking to bring in a rookie quarterback in the 2025 NFL Draft.
In a post on X, the Browns shared a photo of two top quarterback prospects, Shedeur Sanders and Cam Ward, with the caption “Bright futures ahead”.
This obviously suggests that the Browns may very well take one of Ward or Sanders depending on how the Tennessee Titans decide to operate with the No. 1 overall pick.
Luckily for Browns fans, it seems as if the Browns may have their pick of the litter at the quarterback position. The Titans have been linked to dual-threat top prospect Travis Hunter at No. 1 overall, as the organization has already said they would like to a take a “generational talent” with the top overall pick.
Maybe the Browns are just trying to throw everyone off the scent of what they really want to do with their No. 2 overall pick. But at the moment, all signs seem to point at a rookie quarterback coming to town for the Browns heading into the 2025 NFL season.
