The Cleveland Browns have a lot to sort out. Cleveland went 3-14 last season, finishing last in the AFC North and securing the second overall pick in the upcoming NFL draft with their pitiful record.
The city of Cleveland is always in a battle with the ownership group about whether to take the team out of the city and move it into a nearby suburb. If all that weren’t enough, star pass rusher and former defensive player of the year Myles Garret requested a trade after the season.
The Browns have stood firm on their decision not to move Garrett despite his request. However, it appears the team is willing to part ways with another beloved franchise legend.
In a video making the rounds on social media, Browns general manager Andrew Berry says that he expects running back Nick Chubb to hit the free agency market.
Fans reacted to the news on social media.
“Andrew Berry not resigning Nick Chubb and letting him hit the market is gross. Completely destroying everything we love in Cleveland,” one fan account wrote on Twitter.
“Call for berry’s job. Fans should NOT support this regime. I side with Chubb and Myles. Not Berry,” one fan added.
“This is the sickest I’ve felt as a Browns fan in ages.. imagine if Chubb signs with the Steelers? My gosh,” another fan added.
“Look every single Browns fan loves Chubb including me. Probably in my top 5 all time favorite Browns players. But the facts are he’s a 29 year old RB who has blown the same knee out twice and has injured his good knee once. It only makes sense to let him test the market,” someone else wrote.
It’ll be interesting to see if the Browns end up regretting their decision like the New York Giants after letting Saquon Barkley sign with the Philadelphia Eagles.
