The Cleveland Browns are not having the start to the year that they envisioned. Cleveland’s loss to the Detroit Lions on Sunday dropped the team to 1-3 on the season, and while the defense has performed admirably, it’s been a struggle on the offensive side of the ball.
Many fans were perplexed earlier in the season when head coach Kevin Stefanski made the decision to stick with veteran Joe Flacco as the starting quarterback despite the offense’s ineptitude, especially considering the Browns have two rookies at the position in Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders.
“Browns Stefanski said he won’t consider a quarterback change from Joe Flacco to Dillon Gabriel,” reported Mary Kay Cabot after Cleveland’s Week 2 loss.
The Browns bounced back to pull off a shocking upset of the Green Bay Packers in Week 3, but against the Lions, things were a struggle again. Now, Stefanski is letting fans know how he plans to move forward in wake of the loss to Detroit.
Browns coach Kevin Stefanski said he’s still not considering a QB change. ‘That’s not our focus … We didn’t do enough on offense,'” reported Daniel Oyefusi on Sunday after the game.
Fans reacted to the decision on social media.
“I still think they are waiting for Watson to get healthy. Once Watson is ready, they will release Flacco and go with Watson for 2 games until he gets hurt and then Gabriel,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“He already knows when the change is happening. Probably after London,” someone else added.
“Stefanski needs fired. He is stubborn and putting loyalty before business,” another fan added.
It’ll be interesting to see if Stefanski ever makes a change at the position this season.
